Traditions and Laws of a society can be considered the source of morality by taking into acount the following points.
Firstly, An isolated individual does not develope morality untill they are exposed to society. this means that you arent even aware of what is right or wrong, untill considering other people feelings and reason.
This devopent of morals in the shape of traditions and laws comes from these groupes of individuals who agree on how to treat other people.
Secondly the fact that different societys choose to have different laws and traditons shows how morality is an interchangeable concept. for example in japan it is a "rule of society" to give up your seat to the elderly on a train or bus. This same "rule of society" would not nescisarily be applicable in nigeria where you dont even have trains.
Morals as we know today are inherited from our ancestors since laws where recorded by people of the time. If there are no trains like in nigeria then there is no chance for "train morals" to develope in a cultural context.
In this way our society shape the way morals develop in individuals.
United Nation Declaration of Human Rights says that
1. all human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights...
2. everyone, despite different race, colour, sex, language, religion, political, national, or social origin, is entitled to al the rights and freedoms set forth in this Declaration.
3. Everyone has the right to life, liberty, and security of person
4. No one shall be held in slavery....
...until article 30.
The United Nation Declaration of Human Rights basically says that everyone is equal and everyone must be treated equally.
However, some countries have Cast System where they have religious innate class that they are born with. They believe if they do good, they will be able to rise to higher class and if you do badly, the person will go down a class.
Therefore, this United Nation Declaration of Human Rights cannot be universally applied to the every person in the world because they have different background, culture, and way of thinking and you can't change those all of a sudden.
Therefore, there cannot be universal law. Also a social or political law will be only developed by bunch of group of people because they will need to live in harmony and you need a rule to keep the things in order and peace. So the different society will develop different cultures depending on what kinds of members are in the society.
